Picture this. You wake up nice and early and get yourself ready for the day. You’re enjoying your morning coffee, mentally rifling through your wardrobe, trying to figure out what you should wear, then you check the weather forecast and shock horror….snow is on the horizon! Ugh! You mentally come up with an alternative outfit. A nice cozy sweater, thermal pants, your trusty parka….and you’re thoroughly stumped by what to wear on your feet!

Dear reader, if this has happened to you, not to worry, you’re not alone!

My thought process when I go through this goes something like;

“Trusty wellies/rain boots? Nope, not warm enough”

“Fav leather boots? Nope, snow will wreak havoc on them”

“Heavy-duty snow boots I’ve had forever? Ugh, they weight a ton and who wants to wear these unflattering things around all day!” 

Quite a dilemma!

All this changed from me when Cougar sent me their these lush Duncan Suede Shearling boots to review.

These extremely comfy boots have made walking over a fresh powder of snow, sleet, ice or rain effortless and fab! Not only that, it’s flattering mid-calf length, pretty suede leather decorative braid detail, and solid wedge heel, make it look less like a snow boot and more like your fab everyday pair of boots.

It’s lined with double-faced shearling (real fur from a sheep!) and removable molded foam insole. My feet have never felt sooo cosy in snow boots or any kind of boots ever! I wore them on one particularly miserable sleety day and was amazed how comfortable they were. Seriously, I would pay to have shearling and a molded insole in all my winter boots!

It also has anti-slip TR outsole which keeps you secure in particularly bad weather. No embarrassing snow or ice slip-ups to worry about in these beauties.

For most of my adult life, I’ve been on a hunt for snow boots that look fashionable yet functional for everyday city life. There’s nothing more annoying than when you get dressed for a snowy day….then it doesn’t snow! You end up trudging around New York City all day in heavy boots looking slightly ridiculous!

In these Duncan boots, that worry has been eliminated completely. If the forecast says snow, sleet or rain, no problem! I throw them on with whatever wardrobe selection I’ve made for the day and strut out happily. If the forecast changes, I’m still good cos their fantastic design makes them look like everyday boots.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve worn these beauties on multiple occasions. In rain, in snow, in sleet and on perfectly nice days and on each occasion, they’ve held up beautifully. My feet have been warm, cosy and dry….with tons of compliments directed their way.
